Toyota Ghana Supports National Reconstructive Plastic Surgery and Burns Centre

Toyota Ghana Company Limited supported the National Reconstructive Plastic Surgery and Burns Centre of Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital with a Vacuum assisted closure machine and some wound dressing materials worth at a cost of GHC14,000.00

The donation follows an appeal to the automobile firm to support the centre.

Presenting the items to the centre, Managing Director of Toyota Ghana Limited, Tetsuya Suematsu said the donation formed part of the company’s social responsibility towards ensuring continuous success story of Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in healthcare delivery.

He said: “We believe by contributing to the health of those within the communities in which we operate, we also sustain the strength of our business. That is why we have established and maintained a continuous support relationship with this hospital over the years”.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Centre, the Director of the Plastic Surgery and Burns Centre, Dr. Opoku Ware Ampomah, thanked Toyota Ghana for the gesture and pledged to put the equipment into good use.

He appealed to Toyota and other companies for more support adding such equipment is needed in larger quantities to deal with the numerous cases the Centre receives on daily basis.

Dr. Ampomah also used the opportunity to call on philanthropic organizations, individuals and other corporate entities to emulate the efforts of Toyota by donating to support the Centre in order to deliver and meet the needs of every patient on time.
